Josh Grant wins his first ever 450 class US supercross race on the Gibbs Racing Yamaha Team! Chad Reed and James Stewart had a tangle on lap nine, which ultimately lead to Stewart having to pull out of the race, with Reed recovering enough to finish third. Jake Weimer wins the 250 Main Event in his first race for Pro Circuit Kawasaki! Below are photos from the event, and an interview after the win with Josh Grant.

Josh Grant talks about his win

Press the play button below:

12:30pm: Practice starts. Track is very nice and tacky. It's partly cloudy, partly sunny.

1:32pm: The 'fast' 250 rider come out for practice, with Jake Weimer number 19 for Pro Circuit Kawasaki leading the charge. It's also the reappearance of Jason Lawrence, the 250 West Coast Supercross Champ! Riding with the number 1 plate. He's on a team with Monster as a sponsor, along with Boost Mobile, AM/PM, and others.

Ricky Carmichael, winningest rider ever in AMA motocross/supercross history, is in the 'industry seating' area, checking out the action. Top guys include in the 250 Lites class include East Coast Champion Trey Canard #39, Ryan Dungey #10, Lawrence, and Weimer. Dungey and Lawrence had the fastest laps in practice.

1:54pm: The top 450 riders come out for practice. Surprise, surprise - James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto and Chad Reed have the best lap times, right around one minute. Nick Wey, number 27, seems to be on the same team as Jason Lawrence, riding a black motorcycle with Monster branding, along with Boost Mobile and AM/PM.

4pm: It starts to rain, although very lightly.

7:30pm: The top four riders (Chad Reed, James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto, and Kevin Windham are introduced. And it's like a four-man boxing match stare off. : )

7:38pm: First moto of the season goes off, and it's Ryan Morais, #116 with the holeshot! Ryan Dungey falls on the first lap! Dungey is off to the side of the track, looking down at his bike - can't get it restarted. Now he's pusing it back to the pits.

7:42pm: Jake Weimer, Morais' team-mate on Pro Circuit Kawasaki, takes over first place. The checkered flag has Weimer first, Morais second, and Justin Brayton third.

7:50pm: 250 heat 2 blasts off. It's Daniel Reardon 122 and East Coast Supercross Champion Trey Canard 39 up front. Jason Lawrence 1 is in fourth. At the end of the second lap, its Canard, Lawrence, and Reardon top three. On lap four, Lawrence puts a move on Canard, and into first he goes. Half lap later, Canard falls in a right hand corner. At the finish it's Lawrence, Reardon, Canard.

8:03pm: The 450 heat 1 blasts off! Ryan Villopoto 2 out front and stylin'! Supercross Champion Chad Reed went off the course a bit in turn three ... the top three after three laps - Villopoto already way out front, Ferry second, then Steve Boniface, Andrew Short, and Mike Alessi. At the checkered, it's Villopoto, Ferry a ways back in second, Andrew Short, and Chad Reed.

8:18pm: 450 heat number 2 takes off. And up front ... it's number 7 James Stewart! Josh Grant 33 second, Davi Millsaps 18 third, with Robert Kiniry fourth. As the checkered flag falls after eight laps, it's James Stewart with the victory! Josh Grant second, Davi Millsaps third, and Robert Kiniry fourth.

8:32pm: 250 Last Chance. Dungey wins.

9:27pm: 250 West 15 lap Main Event start! Daniel Reardon with the holeshot! Jason Lawrence down! On the third lap, Jake Weimer pushes past Reardon and into the lead. Dungey is ninth, Lawrence is 13th.

9:43pm: Jake Weimer takes the 250 West Main Event win! Followed by team-mate Ryan Morais 116, Ryan Dungey, Jason Lawrence, and Chris Blose. Eastern Supercross Champion Trey Canard finished 14th.

9:57pm: 450 20 lap Main Event start! James Stewart with the holeshot! Josh Grant second, Chad Reed third. At the end of the first lap, it's shaping up as the battle royale - Stewart out front, Reedy right behind in second! At the end of lap two, in a right hand corner, Reedy goes inside of James to take the lead! Reed leading, with Stewart right behind, and they are way ahead of all the others. Grant is running third, Windham fourth, Villopoto eighth. On lap seven, Stewart squeezes by Reed and back into the lead on a left hand corner. Then, they collide as Reed's front tire touches Stewart's rear tire, and they go down together! Reed gets up first, another rider knocks into James (Kevin Windham), and James cannot start his bike! James is now walking off the track ... done nine laps into the first race of 2009. Bummer. The leader - Josh Grant! Andrew Short is second, Reed is third, followed by Ferry. On the final lap, as Josh Grant appears headed for his first ever 450 Supercross victory, he's got banners stuck in his rear wheel - causing a lot of smoke from the rear end of the bike! But Josh Grant wins! Andrew Short is second, Chad Reed third. Villopoto scores a fifth, Windham 15th, and Stewart officially 19th.

Australasian Supercross Series - Round 5 - Chad Reed! http://www.supercross.com/features/6-current-feature/2106-australasian-supercross-series-round-5-chad-reed http://www.supercross.com/features/6-current-feature/2106-australasian-supercross-series-round-5-chad-reed Paramatta Stadium, Sydney, Australia

Chad Reed wins Round 5 of the Monster Energy Super X Australasian Supercross Series, Jeremy McGrath second

Parramatta Stadium witnessed a sensational night of supercross racing tonight, with two-time world supercross champion Chad Reed dominating the Open class final to take the win. Seven time AMA Supercross Series champion Jeremy McGrath finished in second place, just ahead of Jay Marmont. Fans also got to enjoy great racing in the Pro Lites competition, with Matt Moss taking the victory, and wrapping up the overall championship in the 250 class as well.

The incredibly exciting Survival format featured in the Open class had the Sydney fans at the edge of their seats. The format pits 20 riders against each other in four, six lap sprints, where the bottom five are eliminated after each race.

The first six lap sprint saw young gun, Tye Simmonds, take the holeshot and lead the whole six laps, with Reed getting closer after every lap. Tye held on right until the very last lap, where he made a small mistake on the whoops just before the finish line, which allowed Reed to make the pass and take the first win.

Crowd favorite Jay Marmont holeshot in the second race, but was taken out on the first corner, which forced him to put in another courageous effort to make his way through the pack to finish in the top ten and progress to the next final. Reed overtook race leader Daniel McCoy on the fourth lap, and went out to take the win. The unforgiving survival format meant that championship leader Daniel Reardon did not make it through due to his less than perfect race, as well as top international rider Michael Byrne.

In the third six lapper Chad Reed took the holeshot and rode on for a dominant win, with the 'King of Supercross' Jeremy McGrath coming in second. Cheyne Boyd and Cameron Taylor both crashed and did not finish the race.

The final five that lined up at the start gate were Chad Reed, Tye Simmonds, Daniel McCoy, Jay Marmont and Jeremy McGrath. Reed took the holeshot, and the win again, with 'The King' holding off Jay Marmont to take second. Marmont's third place gave him enough points to put him ahead in the championship series point standings, one single point ahead of Reed. Reardon is now in third.

Winner Chad Reed said: "I felt great on the bike tonight and I was going for jumps that I haven't been attempting at the other rounds. The atmosphere and crowd tonight were fantastic and it's so good to have Jeremy out here racing. I idolized him when I was a kid, so it is really special".

The Pro Lites riders competed in the Quad Challenge where they raced four, five lap sprints. There were some great battles and four different winners in each of the five lap races, but it was Matt Moss who rode consistently well, winning the overall round tonight. And with that win, Matt has secured the overall Pro Lites Championship. America's Kyle Cunningham took second place tonight and Brendan Harrison finished third.

250 Lites Supercross winner and Series Champion Matt Moss said: "I am pumped and can't wipe the smile off my face. I have a great team behind me and they have helped keep me stay focused and race smart. I now have three championships out of four and it feels awesome. Thanks for all the fans for coming out tonight and for cheering me on”.

The Monster Energy Super X will now make its way across the Tasman for the first time for the penultimate round of the championship on November 21 at Waikato Stadium, Hamilton, New Zealand.

Kawasaki, 2010 KLX 110's, Amanda, Supercross ... times three http://www.supercross.com/features/6-current-feature/2101-kawasaki-2010-klx-110s-amanda-supercross-times-three http://www.supercross.com/features/6-current-feature/2101-kawasaki-2010-klx-110s-amanda-supercross-times-three It was a tough supercross track. But we also had the right bike - the 2010 Kawasaki KLX 110. The track was one of the most difficult we've ever ridden - one small mistake and your race is over! You could end up smacking into a tree, or running right into the BBQ!

But let's back up for a minute .... what do we have here? We have three things:

1. The page you are looking at, and the video below, is Supercross.com's Feature article on the brand new 2010 Kawasaki KLX 110s. Yes, we said '110s'. There are two of them now! The 'regular' one, and the 'L' model, which is just a little bit bigger than the regular one.

In making the video below, we had one of the best supercross racers we know - riding green. No, not Ryan Villopoto or Chad Reed .... Amanda!

2. We have a Product Review on the 2010 Kawasaki KLX 110s too. You'll find the Product Review of the 2010 Kawasaki KLX 110 right here at this link. The bikes are really amazing. They probably are designed for kids ... but they are great for us big kids and adults too! The bikes are nice, dependable, well built, and last forever. And the best part - they are incredilby fun! Isn't that what riding is all about? These bikes are fun!

3. Amanda's blog on her experience of riding the 2010 Kawasaki KLX 110. She's not one to brag or anything .... but she did win her 'moto'!

We would like to thank everyone at Kawasaki for inviting us out and allowing us to have a fun, great day. If you want to learn much much more about these new bikes, and where to get them, check out the off-road section of Kawasaki motorcycles here at this link

{jvideo id=238 height=360 width=480 autoPlay=0}

The new, 2010, Kawasaki KLX 110 - fun!

Amanda won her first supercross in over 2 years!

Jay Marmont takes Canberra Supercross win http://www.supercross.com/features/6-current-feature/2096-jay-marmont-takes-canberra-supercross-win http://www.supercross.com/features/6-current-feature/2096-jay-marmont-takes-canberra-supercross-win A very emotional supercross win - for Lila

Just two days after the passing of his seven-month old daughter Lila, Jay Marmont came out victorious in the fourth round of the Monster Energy Super X in Canberra.

The entire event scene was smothered in stickers bearing the name 'Lila', a pink love heart. This included all of the riders, crew, and management donning the stickers to show their support for the Marmont family's tragedy.

"It's been a really tough week and I was going to stay at home in grief and watch the race on TV, but the overwhelming support from everyone gave me the strength to come out and race. Everyone here is my second family and I just can't thank them enough" said a teary-eyed Jay Marmont after the race.

CDR Rockstar Yamaha's Marmont took all three holeshots, switching into race mode for the triple challenge final that pitted riders against each other in three, ten lap races. Marmont lead for the first half of the first final before an in-form defending Australasian Supercross Series Champion Chad Reed caught him to take the win.

The second final was again won by Reed, with Marmont gaining a solid third place behind Pacific Ink Coastal KTM High Roller Energy's Daniel McCoy.

The explosive final ten lap race saw Monster Energy Kawasaki's Reed lose control momentarily at the start, and then Chad was sent flying off his bike after the bike behind him collided with his wheel. Reed did not finish the race, which left it wide open for Marmont, who never looked back from his lead position to take the win, where he pumped his fists and looked to the sky as he jumped across the finish line.

The entire crowd rose to their feet and applauded in appreciation, aware of the very special moment they had just witnessed.

Marmont's friend and competitor Reed said he had the utmost respect for Jay, and couldn't believe how tough he was to come out and race.

"Jay Marmont is amazing and races don't get any tougher than that. I can't imagine how hard this is for him and his family. Our hearts are with him in this really difficult time" said Reed.

Daniel McCoy finished second overall for his first podium of the series, with championship leader Woodstock Honda Thor Racing's Daniel Reardon finishing third, which was enough for him to remain points leader in the series.

On hand racing in Australia this weekend - 7-time AMA Supercross Series Champion Jeremy McGrath! Jeremy is mostly retired these days, but does make an occasionally race now and then. In talking to Jeremy earlier in the week back home in California and asking 'Why Australia?', his reply was 'Australia is awesome. It's beautiful. I love it there."

The 250cc class riders also raced the Triple Challenge in the final in three, eight lap races. It was championship leader Shift Motul Suzuki's Matt Moss, who once again dominated. He dropped only one of the three races to Serco Yamaha's Kyle Cunningham. JDR Motorsport's Ryan Marmont (Jay’s younger brother) rode consistent in all races to finish second overall. with local rider Lawson Bopping, from Shift Motul Suzuki, finishing third.

Monster Energy Super X will now head to Sydney’s Paramatta Stadium for the fifth round next Saturday November 14.

AMA announces 2010 National numbers for Supercross & Motocross http://www.supercross.com/features/6-current-feature/2094-ama-announces-2010-national-numbers-for-supercross-a-motocross http://www.supercross.com/features/6-current-feature/2094-ama-announces-2010-national-numbers-for-supercross-a-motocross Stewart must run 1 in AMA Supercross Class, Reed 1 in 450 Motocross, Dungey must run 1 in in 250 MX & 250 West Supercross (should he run in those classes in 2010), Pourcel must run 1 plate if racing in 250 East Supercross.

With Feld Motor Sports and MX Sports Pro Racing, the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has announced the 2010 national numbers for pro-licensed riders in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, and the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.

National numbers in the disciplines of Supercross and Motocross are assigned by the following process:

No. 1: The current series champion must run the No. 1 plate in that series.

Nos. 2-9: A champion from the previous competition year may choose a permanent single-digit number if available, with the exception of No. 4. The AMA has reserved No. 4 for exclusive use by Ricky Carmichael through 2011.

Nos. 10-999: Riders who finish in the top 10 in combined championship points in Supercross, Motocross 250 and Motocross 450 competition in the previous competition year have the option to choose a career national two-digit number, if available. These riders, by their option, may instead select a three-digit national number.

Riders who finish outside the top 10 but in the top 100 in combined championship points in Supercross, Motocross 250 and Motocross 450 competition in the previous year will be assigned consecutive two-digit numbers from the available supply until that supply is exhausted.

A comparison of riders' best moto finishes breaks a tie, unless one of those riders competed in only one discipline. In the case of a tie between a rider who rode one discipline (for example, just Supercross) and a rider who rode both racing disciplines, the tie is broken in favor of the rider who rode both series.

A rider who fails to earn at least one championship point during the season preceding the current season will lose his or her career number and be issued a new number based on current points. Special consideration is given to a rider if an injury impeded participation the previous year.

Note: Lower three-digit competition numbers (100-125) are traditionally held for past or current champions from non-U.S. series who participate in a Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, or a Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross event.

Justin Brayton - King of Paris Bercy Supercross 2009 http://www.supercross.com/features/6-current-feature/2083-justin-brayton-king-of-paris-bercy-supercross-2009 http://www.supercross.com/features/6-current-feature/2083-justin-brayton-king-of-paris-bercy-supercross-2009 Sunday, November 1, Paris - Justin Brayton is the 'King of Bercy', thanks to his consistency during the three night's of racing at the world famous French Supercross.

This weekend concluded the 27th edition of the Bercy Supercross. And Brayton, riding for the Joe Gibbs Racing Yamaha team, puts his name on the mantle with previous winners of this prestigous event. Names like McGrath, Stewart, ... Johnson, Bailey ... and so many others in the supercross world.

Everyone was expecting another triumph from a past King of Bercy AMA Supercross Series Champion James Stewart. But what happened to the American racer? James did not race the final main event of Sunday's program, as he felt faint just before the start, and did not compete.

It was a bit strange ... Stewart had won the previous two nights of racing, and seemed set to capture a repeat of his 2008 'King of Bercy'. The information came into the arena that he was in the first aid room, and would not compete in the final race.

Then his L & M Yamaha team-mate Josh Hill got the hole-shot ... and he would go on to win the main! Greg Aranda finshed second in the main event, followed by another French rider, MX2 World Motocross Champion Marvin Musquin.

Brayon would go on to finish the main event in fifth position ... and the title King of Bercy 2009 was still being calculated! After all the points were totaled, Justin Brayton beats out James Stewart by one point for the 2009 King of Bercy Supercross title!

Paris Bercy Supercross - Night 2 - James Stewart! http://www.supercross.com/features/6-current-feature/2082-paris-bercy-supercross-night-2-james-stewart http://www.supercross.com/features/6-current-feature/2082-paris-bercy-supercross-night-2-james-stewart The world famous Paris Bercy Supercross - the 27th edition now running in 2009, saw AMA Supercross Series Champion James Stewart winning for the second night in a row, followed by another American, Justin Brayton, on the Joe Gibbs Racing Yamaha.

Why is Bercy legendary and world famous in supercross lore? The 'show' and the fans. It is unique compared to any other supercross - a very special place to watch or to race. And the 'hometown' crowd always give a lot of love to the 'hometown' riders, this year including MX2 World Motocross Champion Marvin Musquin, and Greg Aranda.

James Stewart has made other news this weekend in France as well. In interviews, he has been quoted as saying he will not race any 'motocross' events in 2010 (including the 2010 Motocross of Nations in the USA, and the 2010 AMA National Motocross Series). He will concentrate solely on supercross racing, and a reality TV show. With the change of schedule in the Motocross Grand Prix series starting in 2011, he stated he does have interest in possibly pursuing the World Motocross Championship after the supercross season is completed in 2011. (To read the these 2011 schedule changes, you can view this article.)

Dan Reardon bests Chad Reed at Perth Supercross! http://www.supercross.com/features/6-current-feature/2081-dan-reardon-bests-chad-reed-at-perth-supercross http://www.supercross.com/features/6-current-feature/2081-dan-reardon-bests-chad-reed-at-perth-supercross Burswood Dome, Perth: Woodstock Honda Thor Racing's Daniel Reardon, won the third round of the Monster Energy Super X tonight, in a very close and epic battle with defending Australasian Supercross Champion, Monster Energy Kawasaki's Chad Reed.

Reardon took the holeshot and rode consistently quick laps over the 10 lap final to hold off an incredibly fast and determined Reed. The race came right down to the wire, with Reardon besting Reed by just under 0.6 seconds at the finish. Reardon now leads the Open Supercross championship by two points over Reed.

The Perth round saw the debut of an all new Open class final format - the Round Robin, which pits riders against each other in three different, five-lap heat races, in order to progress to a ten lap final. There were nine heat races in total, meaning that every rider raced different competitors in each of their three heat races.

Reardon was ecstatic about his win. "I am so pumped about the win and it was a lot of fun racing tonight. It was a great track and a great venue and I felt really good on the bike."

Second place Reed also commented on how impressive the venue, track and atmosphere were. "I want to thank the fans for coming out today and I am glad there was some great racing for them to enjoy. It was an awesome track & venue, and congratulations to Dan on a great race."

The 250cc class, Shift Motul Suzuki's Matt Moss once again dominated the field in the eight lap final. He leads the point standings as well, with Kyle Cunningham second in points.

The Monster Energy Super X will now make its way to Canberra for the fourth round next Saturday, November 7.
