Team Honda Muscle Milk recently announced that current Troy Lee Designs / Lucas Oil / Honda Supercross Lites rider Cole Seely will fill in for injured Team Honda Muscle Milk rider Trey Canard at select Supercross races beginning with the coming Atlanta round next weekend.

Canard suffered a back injury at the Dodger Stadium Supercross that has unfortunately sidelined the popular rider for the remainder of the Supercross season. Commencing at the Atlanta Supercross event, Seely will step up to the Supercross class on Canard’s CRF450R. This is the second time Seely has filled in on the Honda team for an injured rider. Last year, he had great success filling in for Josh Grant between Lites West rounds.

Western Regional Arenacross Lites Champion Will Also be Crowned

The AMA Arenacross Series season has seen the world’s best arenacross riders wage war inside the country’s most popular arenas since October. Now, following 11 rounds of intense bar-to-bar competition, a pair of champions will be crowned on Saturday night inside Minneapolis’ Target Center for the 12th and final round of the 2012 season.

On the heels of an impressive two-night sweep this past weekend in Reno, Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis’ Tyler Bowers needs just one point this weekend to secure back-to-back Arenacross Class Championships, which hasn’t happened since Darcy Lange accomplished the same feat in 2004 and 2005. Bowers’ 12 main event wins matches his total from last season and based on the way he’s been riding recently, he could very well improve on that impressive mark.

With the first race – and win – under his belt, GEICO Honda's Justin Barcia is headed into this weekend's Monster Energy AMA Supercross Lites East race at the Georgia Dome relaxed and confident.

"It was good to get the first race out of the way, especially with a win," Barcia said. "You always have those jitters coming into the season but once you get out there and ride it all goes away. Now it just feels like business as usual. Georgia is home and I love the vibe of Atlanta. The fans will be there, you know that for sure, and the building will be loud. I'm ready."

With the win last week, Barcia, the defending Lites East champion, assumes the early points lead, but knows going wire-to-wire to repeat as champ is going to be his toughest challenge yet.

Round seven of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship series took place this weekend in Arlington, TX. Nearly 54,000 fans filled Cowboys Stadium to watch not only the seventh round of the series, but also the opening round of the Lites East class. GEICO Honda’s Justin Barcia, who is also the defending Lites East Champion, started his season strong by winning the main. His teammate Kevin Windham and Team Honda Muscle Milk’s Justin Brayton rode noteworthy races, finishing in the top ten.

After spending most of the week recovering from his crash in San Diego, Team Honda Muscle Milk’s Justin Brayton put together a respectable ride aboard his CRF450R. He finished a solid fifth in his heat race. In the main, Brayton grabbed a mid-pack start and had a close call on the first lap when another rider landed on his right side. Despite damage to his exhaust, Brayton spent the remaining 20 laps battling his way up a ninth-place finish.

Team Yoshimura Suzuki was proud to bring home a safe and solid top-10 finish in round seven of the 2012 AMA/FIM Supercross Series at Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, TX, on Saturday night. Australian Brett Metcalfe realized that discretion was the better part of valor after what could have been a catastrophic crash. In the end, he was able race his Yoshimura Suzuki RM-Z450 to a respectable eighth-place finish.

Going into the weekend, the Yoshimura Suzuki squad was more than ready to race. Metcalfe concentrated on his starts during the previous week and he was feeling good about his chances on the tight, technical Texas track. Unfortunately, a crash during the afternoon qualifying practice set him back a little. Despite this, he rallied and finished an impressive fourth in his eight-lap heat race.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - For the fifth-straight year, legendary Supercross champion Ricky Carmichael will challenge riders with his latest signature course design in the 2012 Daytona Supercross By Honda scheduled for Saturday night, March 10, the only AMA Supercross event in Florida this year.

“It’s an honor and a pleasure to design the course for Daytona, where there is so much racing history involved,” said Carmichael, who owns a record five Daytona Supercross By Honda victories. “The fans are great, and there is a great group of people working at Daytona International Speedway. I’m flattered that they continue to want me to keep coming back to design their race course. It’s a pretty cool deal.”

The Ricky Carmichael Signature Design course will draw some parallels to last year’s layout with the placement of the starting gate remaining on pit road and providing fans with a great view of the first turn. It will feature slight changes in the course’s configuration, particularly in the corners.

Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1's Clement Desalle dominated the season-opening Valence International Motocross in France for the second-successive year - and in his first outing of 2012.

After taking Pole position in Qualifying, the Belgian - who lost his challenge for the 2011 World MX1 series after incurring a serious shoulder injury - charged his Factory RM-Z450 to victory in the first two heats with Steve Frossard (Yamaha), Gautier Paulin (Kawasaki) and Rockstar Energy Suzuki team-mate Tanel Leok as the main contenders. And in the Super Final - a race where the 20 best MX1 and MX2 were mixed together - he grabbed the holeshot and wasn't headed.

Leok - who was on for a promising result with second and fourth positions in the first two heats - had problems with the start gate in the Super Final, but after starting dead last, he fought through the ranks, encountered a small set back when he touched the wheel of a competitor; but managed to work his way back into 10th position, giving him fifth overall on the day.

Saturday night signified the final night of action for the Reno Arenacross and the fans inside the Livestock Events Center were witness to exceptional competition. For the second straight evening, Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis’ Tyler Bowers, of Danville, Ky., took advantage of a strong start to win his 12th race of the season, and inch even closer to a second consecutive Arenacross Class title. In the Arenacross Lites Class, Reed and Reese KTM’s Dave Ginolfi, of Lake Hopatcong, N.J., secured a hard-fought victory.

FMF Power/Poynt Tuf Honda’s Jeff Gibson, of Blacklick, Ohio, replicated his efforts from the previous evening to take the early lead in the 25-lap Arenacross Class Main Event. However, Bowers wasn’t far behind and quickly began to put pressure on his rival. Gibson managed to open up a comfortable gap early on, but Bowers quickly minimized the advantage.

The Red Bull/KTM ride of Ken Roczen landed on the podium in his first outing this season at the opening round of the AMA East Lites Supercross Series at the Cowboy Stadium.

Roczen, who has only been back on the bike for two weeks after recovering from a pre-season wrist injury, impressed fans during the morning practice sessions earning the 2nd fastest lap time. He continued to turn heads when he lined up for the evening program in the first heat and came around the first corner in 2nd position. Within the first few corners he leaped ahead of Blake Baggett to move into the lead. He quickly pulled ahead and went on to lead every lap of the race to take the first heat win of the season.

Red Bull/KTM Factory Team rider Ryan Dungey impressed the Texas crowd during the seventh round of the AMA Supercross Series held at the Cowboy Stadium when he came from a poor start to finish 2nd overall for the night.

Dungey had a rough start to the day when he suffered a crash in the first lap of his heat. A rider swapped in front of Dungey forcing him to jump to the other side which knocked him off balance in the middle of the pack. Luckily Dungey was able to avoid colliding with any other riders and quickly picked his bike up to get back in the action. He restarted in last position and worked the entire eight laps passing forward to move into qualifying position. With a lap to go he moved into 9th place and crossed the checkers in the final transfer spot.

Justin Barcia starts 2012 Supercross East Lites title defense with Texas-sized win at Cowboy's Stadium

GEICO Honda rider Justin Barcia began defense of his 2011 Supercross Lies East championship with a convincing victory Saturday night at Cowboy's Stadium. Barcia battled rookie teammate Justin Bogle and Darryn Durham throughout the first half of the race before passing them both in Lap 9 and riding away for the win.

Senior team member Kevin Windham also had a solid night, finishing seventh overall.

"We had a little battle there for the first several laps," Barcia said. "I didn't want to take my teammate out so I played it safe. Once I got around him and got a little space I was able to go after Durham. It took a couple of tries but once I got past him I just rode my own race and finished it out. I learned a bunch tonight. I'll take that and go home a train for Atlanta. You couldn't ask for a better start for this GEICO Honda team. I'm pumped up with this win."

Daniel Blair Captures First Arenacross Lites Class Win of the Season

The first of two nights of action inside the Livestock Events Center kicked off the 22nd Reno Arenacross on Friday night. Following a tough runner-up effort one week ago, Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis’ Tyler Bowers, of Danville, Ky., bounced back to take his 11th win of the season. In the Arenacross Lites Class, Airide KTM’s Daniel Blair, of Lodi, Calif., won a very competitive main event to take his first win of the season.

Last week’s winner, FMF Power/Poynt Tuf Honda’s Jeff Gibson, of Blacklick, Ohio, kicked off the 25-lap Arenacross Class Main Event by grabbing the early lead, but, just like the previous round, was trailed closely by Bowers. Gibson set an impressive pace, but Bowers stayed close. The opening laps saw the pair open a gap over the field, making it a two-rider battle for the win.
