Supercross Qualifying Heat 2 - Weston Peick number 43 with the holeshot on his Yamaha! - he's leading most of this first lap. But James Stewart has other ideas - like taking over the lead - which he does before the end of the first lap. Ryan Villopoto is a ways back.

Supercross 20 Lap Main Event - There is an electric vibe in the air at the start of this race. Holeshot goes to ... Fabien Izoird! Second is Ryan Dungey ... but Dungey has moved into the lead before the end of the first lap.

At the end of this first lap - it's Ryan Dungey leading, Izoird second, Chad Reed third, Nick Wey fourth .... poor starts for Ryan Villopoto and James Stewart. Ryan is back in tenth. James is 13th.

Lap ten - the halfway point - looks like there is going to be another big change in the point standings for Supercross 2011, as series points leader Ryan Villopoto is back in 16th. Ryan Dungey is leading - will he get his first win of the season? Chad Reed is second - he most likely will take over the points lead if things stay as is. Trey Canard another great ride in third. James Stewart up to fourth.

Two laps later - Villopoto is being lapped. Either he got banged up in that crash with Stewart, or there is a problem with the bike. Dungey is the leader, Reed second, Canard third, Stewart fourth. Villopoto is up to 14th.

Ryan Dungey leads Chad Reed by a little over three seconds with one lap to go. Trey Canard is in third, about 14 seconds back. James Stewart is fourth.

James Stewart, although way back, is still fourth. Justin Brayton fifth. Nick Wey sixth - everyone else was lapped. Ryan Villopoto finishes ninth.

Chad Reed is the new Supercross Series points leader!

Chad Reed says: You've got to carry on. Ryan (Dungey) rode an amazing race, I gave it everything I had just to stick with him. The team (TwoTwo Motorsports) is awesome. We are sitting pretty good in the championship - I want to win this thing so bad.

Ryan Dungey says: It's been a tough one (the season so far). I got off to a great start tonight. It feels awesome. The track was tough - glad we could pull it off. I want to thank the Man above, and my parents. There was a really close call over the triples - I'm glad things worked out for me.
