During the silly season most of the focus is on the makers and shakers in the 450 championships. For this little edition we are just going to concentrate on the 250 guys and who is capable of what. There has not been a ton of news on the question mark 250 guys and there are a more than a few coveted seats out there.

Well I hate to tell you I told you so, but I will. As I predicted Barcia won a moto and had it not been for the bike quitting he would have won the overall. The kid was on fire and I think all the 450 boys need to take notice. I will also keep pounding the drum that this should also be a good wake up call for the factories to move these kids up to make the top level racing more balanced. Think about what the class would look like next year if Wilson, Barcia, and Roczen were to just move up. I think all are capable of winning races and are probably just as good on a Supercross track. Also I wonder if anyone has thought about sending Barcia to Des Nations over Baggett due to the event being a sand race. I think it is clear that Barcia is the best sand guy we have and it looks like we will need it.

Let me try and draw an analogy on some thesis writing I have been working on for my pal Nik. Sorry ahead of time if you hate this stuff...

In Texas there was no question about the speed of Ryan Dungey. Unfortunately there was some question in regards to how much fuel to run and it cost Dungey once again. I remember back in 2001 all the new Yamaha 250F's were blowing motors all afternoon. It was as hot as hell that day and there was speak of fuel boiling over and some  opposite effects so who knows. We do know that Chad Reed was in place to benefit and I think there will be some guys who plan on changing things this weekend.
