In nature there is an environmental condition known has the rain shadow effect. In a nutshell it is the process in which mountain ranges pull extreme moisture out of the clouds as they are rolled over the tops of mountain ranges. The results are some of the most desolate places on Earth such as the Mojave Desert and the Atacama Desert. Not only has the moisture been sucked from the clouds but as that air dries out it began to get warmer as it sinks down the backside of the range and into the basin. So how does this compare to James Stewart? Let me explain.
