Wow what a great weekend of racing. Both the 250's and 450's saw the championship leaders get one step closer to 2011 championships. Some notes of quick interest from this weekend were the rides of Justin Barcia and Justin Bogel. Barcia was in it to the last lap on the second moto before his brain was abducted from Travis Pastrana. On one of the faster and bigger jumps, Barcia slightly jumped all the way across one side of the track to another and right into Dungey's line. If you haven't seen the video just go to Youtube and you will be on it quick. Bogel rode to a very solid 5th overall despite yours truly predicting a podium, but I am an over achiever, much like those I feel have promise.
This morning as I always do I fired up the PC and hit the inbox. What appeared in front of my eyes was something I had seen before, but for some reason this morning it rubbed me the wrong way. I have been pretty critical of the obvious and blatant miss use of powers and corruption amongst Supercross and Motocross, but nobody really cares. Which is fine I suppose if you consider the fact that this is just one mans opinion.
In Texas there was no question about the speed of Ryan Dungey. Unfortunately there was some question in regards to how much fuel to run and it cost Dungey once again. I remember back in 2001 all the new Yamaha 250F's were blowing motors all afternoon. It was as hot as hell that day and there was speak of fuel boiling over and some opposite effects so who knows. We do know that Chad Reed was in place to benefit and I think there will be some guys who plan on changing things this weekend.
I just couldn't halp myself from writing about this issue. I know I have some things to do so forgive me if this seems a little informal. It has been announced that the TV schedule for outdoors is a little bit of a Labyrinth of media. There are motos on the web and then the second motos will be done via Fuel. I like Fuel TV so for now I am going to leave that alone but I would like to point a couple things out.
