James coming out for the nationals could be the best thing for him. Maybe not win the title. But challenge for some wins, make some podiums and try to get some positive momentum for SX. then we can see rd on fire, James doing well, and Rv ready for some even racing.
A guy can only hope.
I think James would regain a lot of respect, and fans that he may have lost. He'd basically be rescuing what's likely to be a yawner of a season. Assuming, like Russ said, he's got the stamina and strength for the outdoors... Read More...
I think it's safe to say that RV and Dungey will be the fastest guys on the track tomorrow night... so if they get in a battle, will RV let him go, since he's got the championship... or will he race him? Read More...
People sometimes forget how fast Dungey can be Outdoors... remember some of the battles he RV had last season? At one of the races (Steel City, maybe... the one where Dungey bobbled in the last turn and gave the win to RV) they were well over a minute ahead of third place. They were racing each other so hard, they were in another universe... great to watch. Read More...
That was totally uncalled for. The flagger that was standing off to the side of the jump was totally in the wrong place. I am guessing Pala will close after this or suddenly become pretty damned expensive to ride as their insurance levies are going to skyrocket after some legal clown sees this
I can't believe Pala would make a mistake like that... it wasn't a practice day; it was an actual race! Read More...
For me, it seems like panic revving was always just something that happened subconciously. I know reving the bike in the air helps bring the front end up, but thinking back on every nasty endo I ever had, there wasn't enough time to process the thought of revving the bike before the revving started. It was almost like the it became an automatic reaction to the feeling of the front end dropping. It isn't limited to jumps either. Listen next time a rider gets caught way over the front wheel and rides it out over a few whoops before eventually crashing.
Well said... for me it was always just instinct. It was just a happy coincidence that panic revving can slightly raise the front end. I don't think there's a more startling sound in the world than a 450 panic-rev... always gets everyone's attention at the track. Read More...
He's still riding a Zook, and they don't have a top-tier rider now since Dungey left. Metcalfe is damn good, but he's not at the level of the big 3 or 4. Be cool to see him do something like a 1 year deal with them; maybe SX only. He could make a buttload of money, the TV ratings would be off the charts; ticket sales too. I mean, to see him race against Villopoto or Dungey, who he never raced against, and Stewart again... daydreaming I know; I wish someone would convince him to do it. Read More...
Racing some amateur events... getting back in shape for something, maybe even a SX or National? Any rumors, whispers, etc? He sees Windham doing well at his age, maybe he wants to take a shot at it... rehire Aldon Baker and he could be in great shape pretty quickly. What's his Nascar situation, is he currently under contract, would he be allowed to race MX or SX again? Read More...
It's funny when you compare MX and Nascar... in Nascar, the car gets torn to hell but the driver's usually OK, in MX the rider gets torn to hell but the bike's usually OK. Read More...
