Why is this called Editor's Blog? I couldn't come up with a better name. What is this blog going to be about? I have no clue.

Well, that's not entirely true. I have a clue. I'll write about whatever thoughts come in my head at the time I'm writing, .... probably total random stuff ..... OK, a lot of random stuff .... maybe a little motocross & supercross news that I can't figure out where to put anywhere else on the site .... maybe some history of the sport .... and most deRead More...

Men and Motocross

On the verge of ruin, that is just how I predict the lives of my three male friends would be. They quited their jobs because they are bored, and they wanted to allocate more time on their new-found love—motocross. For a mellow, melancholic essay writers like me, being into such sport is a dreadful activity. Not that I do not know anything about the sport; I have read articles, research paper, and the like about different extreme sports as I have been assigned to write about these lastRead More...

Supercross, on four wheels

It was going to be a good idea. Key word being 'was'. It was going to be a good idea!

My idea was to show you what the truck racing series that I promote and race in is like. It's like Supercross, only on four wheels!

So, my plan was simple - I'd invite my good friend Lex out to the finale of the Traxxis TORC series in Las Vegas, we'd mount a camera on the hood of my race truck, and I'd show you just how rough the racing is. It would be me (a former 2 timeRead More...

Ezra Lusk Returns to Racing at the US Open of Supercross - Interview

It’s been 5 years since Ezra Lusk hung up his racing boots and turned his passion of racing dirt bikes into retirement life with lots of family time and tennis. This past weekend at the US Open of Supercross in Las Vegas Nevada, Ezra strapped back on his racing boots, jumped on the 450 and took to the track to see what could happen. I chatted with Ezra in the pits and we talked racing and life; I was surprised to hear what he had to say.

<img width="491" height="383" borderRead More...

Wow what a weekend of racing all around the world. If you are a racing junkie like myself then you got a full dose of one of the most addicting substances ever.......racing. Obviously here at supercross.com there is a dirt spin to things, but like many others there is still plenty of racing going on and a few championships to be decided. Over in Europe the MotoGP season is heading into there last few races and the WSBK championship heads into it's final round. So if you are a dirt fan and donRead More...

A Musing on the Movie Spanglish

'Twas a Saturday night when me and my cousins were still so awake we have been thinking of a salient thing to do. We were done with making a hotcake and some fresh juice. I opened a clover chip and we were just so tired of talking all day. Dana suggested we watch a movie. I look through my old film collections. I was thinking of making them watch Dead Poets Society, but then I know this would not be of interest to them yet. I asked if they know movies of Adam Sandler, and they were beaming wiRead More...

Alessi to KTM Factory in Austria

In an expected mover rumors have the Mike Alessi to KTM is all but a done deal. Mike will skip Supercross and ride a few over seas races including two Supercross races in England and a few GP's. Mike will also throw a leg over a all new 350 with linkage and is rumored to be a contender right away. The word is that he is not riding it during Supercross because of homologation rules, but we all know why he isn't.

I think this is great new and signsRead More...

Steel City; Interview with Ryan Dungey, the New 250 Motocross Champion

After 12 exciting rounds of racing Ryan Dungey clinches the 250 Motocross Championship title. Ryan spent the last half of the series in second place just points away from the leader but it was Round 11 when he gained a big points lead over his competition and Ryan was again back on top and in line to grab the title; and that’s just what he did. I spoke to Ryan just moments after he clinched the title at Steel City Raceway; here’s what he had to say ~

<img style="float: Read More...

The last race of the season, Steel City Raceway, Tommy Hahn got his first win and gets his first overall race win. Tommy did have some great results this Motocross season with a handful of podiums and top ten results, so it was just a matter of time before Hahn was holding that first place trophy.

<br Read More...

The 450 class did crown Chad Reed the Champion at Budds Creek but there was still plenty of racing action left at Steel City as the guys fought hard for the remaining position. Chad Reed himself came into the last race with the championship title giving him a break to relax and enjoy the day. Unfortunately for Chad, his relaxing day would turn upside down by Moto 2. As I stood under the Suzuki tent waiting to interview the new 250cc Champ, Chad Reed zoomed past me, jumped off his bike, droppeRead More...

My Last Supercross, by Rick Johnson

San Diego Supercross. 1991. I knew that 1991 was going to be my last year racing supercross, because of the wrist injury I suffered at the Gainesville AMA National Motocross in 1989. Little did I know that San Diego would be my last 'real' supercross race.

In this video, you'll see some of that last race. And you'll see defending AMA Camel Supercross Champion Jeff Stanton, Damon Bradsahw, Jeff Ward, Jean-Michel Bayle, Guy Cooper, Bevo Forte, Broc Glover, and more.

IRead More...
