Sunday night at 'The Joint' inside the Hard Rock in Las Vegas, Feld Motor Sports put on their annual Supercross Banquet. Just like their supercross events, it was an amazing show and production.
And there was a recurring theme - after the conclusion of 'The Greatest Supercross Season Ever', everyone was already looking forward to 2012 Supercross!
Part of the Supercross Banquet includes the giving out of Awards. Below you'll see a little video that includes 'winners' Kevin Windham, Ken Roczen, Chad Reed (as team of the year), Broc Tickle, Justin Barcia, Ryan Dungey, Chad Reed, and 2011 AMA Supercross Series Champion Ryan Villopoto ... to give you just a taste of what the show was like.
Here is a list of some of the awards and recipients that were handed out Sunday night:
Courtesy of Feld, here are two quotes. First, from Supercross Champion Ryan Villopoto: It's been an awesome season for me and the team. When I ended up getting hurt last year it was a bummer for sure and it made me question if it was worth coming back. I couldn't get it done in the first two years, but I was able to finally get one for the team.
And, Feld Director of Supercross Dave Prater: This was one of the most exciting seasons the sport has witnessed. Leading up into the final race in the Supercross class, we saw five different winners throughout the season and three riders sat within 12 points of the highly coveted world title. In both the Western and Eastern Regional Supercross Lites classes, we also saw several riders lining up for the Lites title with only a handful of points separating the field. I'd like to congratulate all of the riders, sponsors and teams for making the 2011 Monster Energy Supercross season a huge success.
Thank you very much to Feld Motor Sports and their staff for a great season! We hope the video gives you a glimpse of the night, and we are all looking forward to Supercross 2012!
Don't forget, Supercross.com covers all the major outdoor MX / Motocross races too. Coming up next: Glen Helen US GP, opening round of the 2011 AMA National Motocross Championships, and the Brazilian MX GP!
