Round 15 of the FIM World Motocross Series - Italy. You'll get all the Motocross race results here on Supercross.com. Today it is very hot in Italy, and expected to be the same tomorrow. KTM's Kenny Roczen and Tony Cairoli have already won the FIM World Motocross titles in MX2 and MX1. Ken is racing a KTM 125 two-stroke. Tommy Searle has won the MX2 Qualifier. Some riders will not be competing this weekend. Steven Frossard, Clement Desalle, and Tony Cairoli. In a nice move for him, and a nice win, Frenchman Gautier Paulin has won today's MX1 Qualifying race!

Fermo

As mentioned, it is incredibly hot here in Italy today - that is one storyline. Another storyline is the riders not here, most specifically world MX1 motocross series champion Tony Cairoli. Tony is fine, but is dealing with a family-related issue, and will not attend his 'home' event race in Italy. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tony, his family and close friends. KTM's official press release is below.

MX2 notes: New World MX 2 Motocross Champion Ken Roczen raced a 125cc KTM two-stroke. But in the 13 lap Qualifying Race for tomorrow's Grand Prix, Tommy Searle, number 100 on the Kawasaki wins. (Tommy will be racing a 450 next weekend at Motocross of Nations in France.) Tommy had a good race with Arnaud Tonus, who at one point passed Tommy for the lead, but Tonus finishes second - he had a quick fall in the last lap. Third place goes to Max Anstie, number 99 on Kawasaki. Ken Roczen, after a mid pack start on the 125cc two-stroke machine, came all the way up to finish fourth, with another KTM racer Jordi Tixier next. Jeffrey Herlings was the early leader, but fell on the first lap, and came up to eighth place by the checkered flag.

MX1 notes: Gautier Paulin of France is riding in the MX1 class, in preparation for next weekend's biggest race of the year - The Motocross of Nations. And he won the 20 minute plus two lap qualifer today (13 laps)! Second place Xavier Boog, third place 'Super' Evgeny Bobryshev on Honda. As mentioned, World Champion Tony Cairoli did not get to race in front of his home crowd ... more below on that.

Max Nagl rode in practice, but did not race in today's Qualifier, due to a slight hand injury from a fall today. It is possible he will race tomorrow. Christophe Pourcel fell on the very first lap, restarted dead last, and came up to 11th place.

Watch next weekend's Motocross of Nations here on Supercross.com, and a special FOX MX of Nations package that includes a free event t-shirt from the MX of Nations in France!

From KTM: It is with great sadness that KTM announces the passing of the mother of KTM factory rider and 2011 MX1 World Motocross Champion Antonio Cairoli, Paola, who died after an extended illness, Friday September 9, 2011 at home in Patti, Sicily.

The management of the company and the entire KTM International Family extend deepest and sincere condolences to Antonio and his family.

Antonio's mother Paola had been seriously ill for some time, and although she recently had made some improvement, her condition deteriorated dramatically during this past week, and she passed away at 2.00 p.m. on Friday at home in Patti, surrounded by her husband Benedetto, son Antonio, other children and close family members. Antonio had immediately returned home to Sicily to be with his mother and family following his MX1 title victory last weekend in Gaildorf, Germany at the MX GP of Europe.

The funeral will be at 5.00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10 in the cathedral at Patti.

Claudio De Carli, Tony's long time manager and the Red Bull Teka KTM MX1 Team Boss is now Sicily to support him. Out of respect, and in view of the bereavement of the Cairoli family, Claudio, together with the senior management of KTM has decided that Antonio will not take part in the final round for the MX1 World Championship to be held this weekend in Fermo, Italy.

The management of KTM and the Red Bull Teka KTM Factory Racing Team wish to underline that in such sad circumstances, human and family values take precedent above all else.
