Chad Reed wins AMA 450 Motocross in Millville! Extends series points lead! Ryan Dungey sweeps both motos in 250 MX on 'home' track! Video News Release added July 19th!

Perfect racing conditions - both the track and the weather are perfect for outdoor motocross! Not too hot - especially for Millville MN in summer ... and the track is perfect groomed! Tacky! Sandy! Nice! True outdoor motocross!

450 First Moto - Josh Grant in command with the lead. Chad Reed second ... but Chad has a comfortable lead in the championship point standings, and he knows to ride smart, rather than pushing to just make one extra pass. Up front, it's really just a battle between the leader Josh Grant, and series points leader Chad Reed. At the end of the 30 minutes plus two lap moto, it's Josh Grant winning, even after a mid week crash that left him wondering if he would even compete today! Chad Reed second, Michael Byrne with a nice ride in third. And Thomas Hahn with another nice ride to finish fourth.

250 First Moto - Ryan Dungey, the 'hometown' rider, looked totally at ease winning the first moto. Series points leader Chris Pourcel finished second, and rookie sensation Justin Barcia was third. Home 'track' rider (his parents own the track!) Alex Martin finished eighth in this moto!

450 Second Moto - Looks like Ivan Tedesco is the early leader, with Reed behind him ... but first moto winner Josh Grant is involved in a first corner crash, ... now near dead last. Two laps in, Chad Reed moves past Tedesco and into the lead. At the 10 lap mark, it's Reed in front, heading for the overall win, and extending his Motocross series points lead. Tedesco is second, Davi Millsaps is third, Andrew Short is fourth, Justin Brayton fifth, and sixth is Michael Byrne. Josh Grant has moved up to 16th position. Reed is making it look easy, as he is way out front. There is some shuffling of positions as the checkered flag comes out, but we have Reed winning the moto and overall. Second is Tedesco, third is a good ride for Davi Millsaps, he's followed in fourth by Michael Byrne, then Andrew Short, Kyle Regal, Justin Brayton, Cody Cooper, Nick Wey, ... and Josh Grant has moved all the way up to tenth!

250 Second Moto - Justin Barcia, riding the Geico Honda CRF 250 is the leader on the opening lap! After they settle, it's Ryan Dungey running in second position behind Barcia, and Christophe Pourcel in third spot. After five laps, it's Barcia still leading, Dungey right behind, and Pourcel right behind him. Fourth is Darryan Durham, and he's followed by Brett Metcalfe and Broc Tickle. On lap six, Dungey moves past Barcia and into the lead! It's Dungey first, Barcia in second, and Pourcel still in third. On the next lap though, Pourcel moves past Justin Barcia. You have the top two competitors in the class - Dungey and Pourcel running first and second, with Barcia in third. Ryan Dungey is looking strong towards winning the second moto, and, along with his first moto win here at his 'home' track, secures the overall victory as well. He closes up six points on Christophe Pourcel for the Championship points lead, but Pourcel did finish second in this moto, and second overall today as well. There is now only a three point difference between Chris Pourcel in first position in the season point standings, and Dungey in second. So, Dungey wins the moto and the race, Pourcel is second, and Justin Barcia is third. Brett Metcalfe finishes fourth in the moto. Home track rider Alex Martin finishes the moto in 12th.

Next weekend will be Round 8 of the AMA Motocross Series, in Washougal WA.

Notes: Davi Millsaps is back racing. He was running a strong third in the first 450 Motocross moto,   ... but then pulled off the track with apparent bike problems. Lap times averaged 2 minutes 10 seconds.

ohh man come on!!!! every body know that's read it's the best this yeah and the motocross championship it's for him...
oh guys I'm sorry for my inglish but I'm from Brazil.

Thanks for the posts! Reed and Dungey were definitely the best yesterday! MXSports just provided a Video News Release to see the action in a video news format.
