MX1 - World Motocross Champion Tony Cairoli is on top of the Motocross World. The defending champ swept both motos in the sand of Belgium today, at the famous race circuit in Lommel, Belgium. Lommel is famous for it's history, and, for it's extremely tough racing conditions - deep, bumpy sand. Tony leads the championship points chase by a large margin as the series heads to the Czech Republic next weekend for GP number 12 of the series.
MX2 - The 'exciting to watch' Ken Roczen won the MX2 Grand Prix today, with moto finishes of first and second in the two races. 'Young' Jeffrey Herlings finished second overall, and defending World MX2 Champ Marvin Musquin finished third overall. Those three seem to put on a great show in the '250' class at almost every Grand Prix! Marvin leads the championship point standings.
Ken Roczen said "This weekend was perfect for me. Saturday started things well and Sunday was even better! I have improved a lot in the sand and I am really happy about that because I remember when I rode here two years ago I was not that good at all! This feels special and we have spent a lot of time at Lommel, so this is a race a bit different to the others. The first moto was really good and I had a fast rhythm in the second, but I couldn't go as quickly as Jeffrey. We changed a lot on the bike during the week and it was working so well, especially on the starts."
