Canelinha, Brazil

It was final Grand Prix of the year, as the series made it's way back to Brazil after a ten year absence.

In MX1, Antonio Cairoli had already clinched the 2009 World MX1 Motocross Title. But there was still plenty of action in MX1, as only 14 points separated 3rd place Philippaerts to 6th place Coppins, with Desalle and de Dycker in between, before this weekend!

As you can see, Belgian sensation Clement Desalle won the MX1 Grand Prix. This young rider has come on strong in the second half of the season, and will be riding for the Teka Suzuki Team next season, along with former World Motocross Champion Steve Ramon - who finished second overall today in Brazil. Desalle passed 2008 MX1 World Motocross Champion David Philippaerts for third position in the final season standings.

All eyes were really on the MX2 class, as Marvin Musquin from France, and KTM team-mate Rui Goncalves from Portugal would determine who would become the 2009 MX2 World Motocross Championship.

And Musquin won the MX2 World Motocross Championship title today in tremendous fashion - winning both motos! Second overall today, and fifth in the final season standings - teenage sensation from Germany - Ken Roczen.

Congratulations Marvin Musquin - 2009 MX2 World Motocross Champion!

Interesting note: Mariana Balbi become the first woman to ever qualify to race in an MX1 Grand Prix, and finished 24th! (She's number 66 below in the photos.)

The next 'big' event will be the 'Team World Motocross Championships', aka The Motocross of Nations, in Italy, on October 3 and 4.

Christophe Pourcel did what he had to do in the 250 class - win both motos. And Ryan Dungey did what he had to do to claim his first ever American 250cc National Motocross Championship, finishing second in both motos behind Pourcel. And Thomas Hahn, riding for Canidae Kawasaki, wins his first ever AMA 450 Motocross overall.

It's the finale of the 2009 AMA National Motocross series, in Delmont PA. The track is awesome. Super. Real outdoor American Motocross. The weather - awesome as well. About 80 degrees, sunny - perfect!

For Saturday's race action, Chad Reed has already won the 450 Motocross Championship ... so all eyes will be on the 250 class, as Ryan Dungey and Christophe Pourcel will finally determine their season long battle for supremacy in the 250 class.

There is a championship to be decided in the Women's Motocross class as well (for that coverage, results, and points, you'll want to visit the link below).

On Friday's, the media get together with certain riders and teams on hand. And we were able to talk with AMA Women's National Motocross Champion Ashley Fiolek, JGR's Cody Cooper, and Yamaha's Matt Goerke. We asked them about their 2010 plans:

Ashley Fiolek: My 2010 plans are to work even harder than I have, and become Women's World Motocross Champion. During the break and the time off we have, I'm looking forward to sitting on the couch, watching a lot of TV, doing nothing, and not riding at all. JUST KIDDING! I will take it easy for a little while, but still riding for fun during our little bit of time off.

Cody Cooper: My plans for 2010 are to go race in Australia primarily. I am looking forward to races a few races here in the USA ... which races yet I'm not sure. It's been a great year being on the JGR team, and am looking forward to what the future holds.

Matt Georke: In 2010, I'll be riding for Team Moto-Concepts, and I'll be riding a Yamaha YZ 450. I am hoping to get my ankle feeling better. I injured in Texas, came back at Millville, and twisted it last weekend in Southwick. It's sore ... but we'll see how it goes tomorrow on the bike.

Saturday's first race - the first 250 Moto! And the two guys up front - the two guys battling for the championship! Christophe Pourcel and Ryan Dungey! And they are 1 - 2 right now in this first moto. Dungey doesn't really need to race side by side with Pourcel - but they are!

It's literally Pourcel and Dungey racing side by side. It looks like they are having fun ..... but going at full race speed! They are far and away ahead of everyone else.

At the end of the moto, it's Pourcel winning, Dungey right behind. Pourcel gains three points. Dungey has a 14 point lead going into the final moto of the season later this afternoon. Justin Barcia was third, then Jake Weimer, and Austin Stroupe.

In the first 450 Moto of the day - it's Jeff Alessi the early leader. He's followed by Andrew Short and Thomas Hahn. Chad Reed is in eighth. But Thomas Hahn is having something to say in this moto - he's taken over the lead on lap three! And Andrew Short is right behind, followed by Ivan Tedesco.

Andrew Short is riding well - he's now taken over the lead! Team-mate Tedesco in second, Hahn in third, and ... Reed is in seventh. OK, now, on lap five, Tedesco takes over the lead! Short second, Hahn third. Then Tedesco has a mini-stall ... and Short passes Tedesco. A few corners later, Tedesco passes Short to retake the lead. Right now, we have Tedesco leading, Short is second, Hahn is third, followed by Michael Byrne, Jake Moss, Jeff Alessi, Matt Goerke, and then Chad Reed.

On the next lap though, Tedesco goes down. Short is back in the lead. And then Hahn passes Short, so Hahn is the leader. Lots of lead changes! At the end of eight laps, it's Thomas Hahn leading, Andrew Short second, Michael Byrne is third, Ivan Tedesco fourth, Chad Reed has moved to fifth.

This is quite the race. Thomas Hahn is out front - heading towards his first ever 450 moto win. Michael Byrne is in second. Chad Reed has passed 'the Honda boys' of Short and Tedesco and has moved into third. Fourth is Tedesco, and then fifth is Short. But Hahn is really proving himself and his season. Definitely a force to be reckoned with.

The checkered flag comes after 14 laps, and it's Thomas Hahn with the win! Chad Reed really put on a late moto charge, finishing second. Michael Byrne is third. Then Tedesco, Short, and Millsaps.

Then it was time for the second 250 moto. Christophe Pourcel was out front from the beginning, and rode hard, smooth, and fast. Dominant. Ryan Dungey was back around tenth. Could it be interesting? Not really. Dungey starting charging. Moved all the way up to second place! And that was pretty much the race and the day. Pourcel winning the moto, Dungey in second, and ..... Ryan Dungey is the 2009 AMA 250 National Motocross Champion!

To see photos of Ryan's season, you can visit this link

Next race - the final 450 moto. Justin Brayton, riding for KTM, is leading most of the race! Jake Moss has been running second, with Ivan Tedesco third, and first moto winner Thomas Hahn in fourth. Chad Reed has pulled off the track - his pits say he's been sick with stomach virus, which has bothered him all year.

And talk about so many different winners this year. This second 450 moto shows it again! Justin Brayton wins his first ever 450 moto - start to finish! And Thomas Hahn wins his first ever 450 National Motocross overall on his Canidae Kawasaki!

Notes: Lap times for the top pros averaged around 2 minutes 30 seconds. Same-day television coverage of the 250 Class will be featured on SPEED beginning at midnight ET.

It's Round 8 of the WMA (Women's Motocross) today too! Check the women's mx results here!

Moto 1 - Jessica Patterson on the Gieco Powersports Honda locked in another win for Moto 1. She continued her strong riding just as in the past few weeks. Mariana Balbi definitely had her highlight of the year by taking the 2nd place position, and Jacqueline Strong reeled in 3rd position

In Moto 2 - it was Jessica Patterson once again with the win, securing the overall. Jessica has been training with retired rrofessional MX racer, now trainer - Ryan Hughes on and off the bike, including a diet designed by Ryan which include his personal brand of organic foods. Mariana Balbi took home second place again, which makes her second overall on the day. Interesting fact about Mariana - she flies back and forth for each race from Brazil. She has contractual obligations there, which earn her the money to keep racing in the USA!

The big story of the day though - Ashley Fiolek regained her AMA Women's National Motocross title, becoming the 2009 AMA Women's Champion.

Lierop, Holland

Antonio Cairoli wins 2009 MX1 World Motocross Championship title today, while Ken De Dycker & Marvin Musquin each won their respective Grand Prix events ...

MX1 Grand Prix: The Braun Grand Prix of The Netherlands sees Tony Cairoli winning his first ever MX1 World Motocross Championship, despite a damaged left knee.

Ken De Dycker went on to dominate both motos and take the overall, with Josh Coppins and Clement Desalle completing the podium. Max Nagl crashed in heat one and decided to ride safe in heat two to at least build on his second place in the Championship point standings.

Yamaha Red Bull De Carli’s Cairoli wrapped up his third World Championship Title in Lierop despite a left knee issue that made it a tough outing for the Italian. Cairoli rode two brave races, finishing fifth in heat one after a mistake, and fourth in heat two. Once he snatched fourth from Nagl in the final heat, Cairoli had the World Motocross Championship Title under his belt courtesy of a 50 point advantage in the Championship standings, though he tried to move past Desalle as well.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Nagl struggled as he crashed in heat one while he was holding third. The German took eighth eventually, but despite the holeshot in heat two he just rode to build on his runner up spot in the Championship.

Pole man De Dycker dominated both motos by taking two first places. The Teka Suzuki World MX1 man grabbed his second season’s win ahead of Yamaha Monster Energy rider Josh Coppins, who had a dogfight with Desalle to take an eventual second in heat two.

Desalle completed the podium, but several crashes in the opening heat left the LS Motors Honda rider disappointed to have lost valuable Championship points.

Jonathan Barragan, who will be riding for Kawasaki in 2010, was 13th at his comeback race after being out for a long time. Last year’s Lierop winner Marc De Reuver returned to action too, he finished 16th.

Ken De Dycker said: I was having so much fun out there and it really helped me. It was not so easy because the track was so demanding and coming up to lapped riders I really had to concentrate. Sometimes I could look around and saw a lot of people cheering so I was waving to them when I could, it was a really nice experience. This was not a simple GP so I am really pleased with the result.

MX2 Grand Prix: The Title quest remains open in the MX2 class even if series points leader Marvin Musquin took today’s overall victory ahead of his main rival in the Championship point chase - Rui Goncalves. Rui was second overall in today's GP. Ken Roczen completed the podium in third. Gautier Paulin finished 20th (broken engine in heat 1), and lost his chance to fight for the Title in the final round in Brazil.

Goncalves went on to win moto one while Musquin took second. The Frenchman, who went down in the opening lap, was handed second as Joel Roelants crashed as well. The Belgian of the KTM Factory Junior MX2 Team was an eventual third ahead of young gun Roczen.

The latter took the holeshot in moto two, but let Goncalves and Musquin go ahead from lap two. Musquin grabbed the lead and pulled away while Goncalves crashed twice, struggling with a damaged right shoulder. Teka Suzuki Europe World MX2’s Roczen snatched second from a troubled Goncalves and made it to third on the podium.

The 2009 MX2 World Motocross title will be decided in Brazil at the final round between Musquin and Goncalves.

Results, points and more coming ....

Rain, Sand, & Mud at Southwick ...

250 Moto 1
- It was a battle in the first race of the day, with the main guys up front being Justin Barcia, Ryan Dungey, and Blake Wharton. Series points leader Chris Pourcel was initially back outside of the top ten.

At the end of the moto, it would be 'rookie' Justin Barcia capturing the win. Ryan Dungey in second, Blake Wharton third .... and Christophe Pourcel walking away from his bike in the mud, officially scoring 27th position. BIG change of events in the point standings with only three motos left in the season! Dungey goes from 13 points down to nine points ahead of Pourcel!

250 Moto 2 - a lot of 'top' guys crash on the first lap, some of which included Ryan Dungey, Christophe Pourcel, Blake Wharton, and Justin Barcia. At the end of the first lap it's Tyla Rattry leading, followed by Brett Metcalfe and Jake Weimer. Dungey is 14th, Barcia 17th, B Wharton 30th, and Christophe Pourcel 32nd.

At the halfway point of the 30 minute plus two lap moto, it's Tyla Rattray leading, Brett Metcalfe is second, Taylor Futrell, number 977 on a Honda third, then Ryan Sipes in fourth. Dungey is in fifth, Barcia right behind in sixth. Pourcel is 13th.

As they near the end of the race, Dungey and Barcia keep making progress .... at the end of the 16 lap race, it's Tyla Rattray with his first moto win in America! (And combine that with a sixth in the first moto - Tyla makes a strong comeback statement today - 2nd overall!) Brett Metcalfe is second, Barcia passes Dungey on the last lap to get third. Dungey finishes fourth, then followed by Ryan Sipes, Tommy Searle, Tyler Futrell, Blake Baggett, and Jake Weimer. Pourcel finishes in 11th postion.

The overall winnner on the day, and it's his first ever AMA National Motocross overall victory, with a 1/3 finish - Justin Barcia!

And dramatically changing the points standings today by coming in with a deficit but leaving with the championship points lead - Ryan Dungey!

It's Round 7 of the WMA (Women's Motocross) today at Southwick too! Check the women's mx results here!

450 Motocross moto 1 - After things settle, it's 450 Motocross National Champion Chad Reed out front. And he made this race just like a lot of the previous races - he won : ) Second in this moto goes to Jake Moss, third place is Michael Byrne. Three guys from Australia on top!

450 Motocross heat 2 - early leader is Andrew Short, but Chad Reed is able to make a move and positions himself in first. At the five lap mark, it's Reedy in first, Matt Goerke, is now in second place, Short is third, then Michael Byrne, Ivan Tedesco, and John Dowd!

At the start of lap ten, Chad Reed crashes. It's now Matt Goerke in first! John Dowd is second! Michael Byrne is third, followed by Jake Moss.

As they complete the final lap, it's Matt Goerke, riding for the Yamaha team, winning his first ever AMA National moto! John Dowd, riding a Kawasaki, finishes second! Michael Byrne is third. And the overall winner in the 450 Motocross class today? Matt Goerke! It's Matt's first ever overall victory in AMA Motocross as well! Second overall, with 3/3 finishes - Michael Byrne. And third overall, with 10/2 finishes - John Dowd! 44 year old, only races one national a year - John Dowd!

An unlikely day at Southwick. Pourcel loses 250 points lead. Dungey takes a nice 250 points lead now. Justin Barcia wins his first ever AMA 250 Motocross. Chad Reed crashes hard enough in second moto to not get back into the race. Matt Goerke, riding for Factory Yamaha, wins his first ever AMA 450 National Motocross, and John Dowd schools a bunch of riders half his age!

Notes: The next and final round of the 2009 AMA National Motocross Series is next Saturday in Steel City / Delmont PA.

Lierop

Stephanie Laier confirmed she is the strongest rider in the FIM Women's World Motocross Championship as she went on to take her third consecutive overall victory at this final round of the series.

Chiara Fontanesi won the first moto, but in taking second position, Laier clinched the title. Fontanesi took second overall on the podium ahead of Larissa Papenmeier, who secured the runner up spot in the Championship. Finishing fourth overall today, Nathalie Kane moved up to third in the Championship.

After losing to Fontanesi yesterday in the first moto, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Laier took her revenge today by winning the final heat and wrapping up the overall. The newly crowned World Champion of Germany led from lap one and kept the lead, despite a crash.

Fontanesi, who held the lead for just two laps after Laier crashed, settled for second. The 15 year old Italian of the Yamaha 3C Racing Team was ninth at the end of her first World Championship campaign.

Teka Suzuki Europe World MX2's Papenmeier recovered well after a troubled start as she took fourth in today's final moto. Papenmeier was third on the podium and managed to secure the runner up spot in the Championship.

It was a great final round for MVR-D Suzuki's Kane, who took third in today's final heat. Kane missed the podium by just two points today, but moved up to third in the final Championship standing, exploiting Maria Franke's absence due to injury.

Budds Creek MX Park

450 Motocross class: In Moto 1, early leader is Davi Millsaps, number 18 on the Honda. Points leader Chad Reed, number 22 on Suzuki, was running around eighth place. Chad Reed kept moving up during the race, and at the end, was right on Milllsaps tail. But Millsaps would hold off Reed, and win the moto. It's Millsaps first moto win of the season.

For Moto 2 - it is raining. Ivan Tedesco is the early leader. Chad Reed is in second, with Thomas Hahn in third. Two keys here - where is Millsaps as far as the overall? And, where is Andrew Short as far as the 450 Motocrosss Championship point standings? At the four lap mark, Millsaps is in fourth, Short is in fifth.

On lap five, Reed moves into the lead! Tedesco is second, Hahn is third, followed by Millsaps in fourth, new name Kyle Regal number 475 is next, and sixth position is Andrew Short.

Will this be the day that Chad Reed wins his first AMA National Motocross Championship? With two rounds still to go in the series? Chad is leading on lap 11 ..... Andrew Short is in eighth. If they stay the way they are, Chad Reed will be the 2009 AMA 450 National Motocross Champion!

As the checkered flag falls after 14 laps, it's Chad Reed winning the moto, the overall, and ... Chad Reed is the 2009 AMA 450 National Motocross Champion!

Reed said "I want to thank everybody from the team. Roger (De Coster) worked his butt off .... just like any motorsports we've had our ups and downs ... but we did it. And I'd like to thank all the fans."

In winning his 2009 AMA 450 National Motocross Championship, Chad Reed has won his first ever AMA outdoor motocross title.

250 MX class: 250 Moto 1, the early leader is Kawasaki rider Jake Weimer, number 19. He's followed by team-mate and current points leader Christophe Pourcel. Third is Ryan Dungey, number 10 on Suzuki. But on lap eight, Pourcel moves into the lead. It's Pourcel first, Weimer second, and Dungey third. And that's how they'll finish the moto - Pourcel winning, Weimer second, Dungey third.

Moto 2 - Early leader, as the rain is falling, is Brett Metcalfe, number 24 on the Honda. Running second is Jake Weimer, and then 250 series points leader Christophe Pourcel. Ryan Dungey is in sixth position.

With the amount of rain, and the muddy track, lap times are now approaching 3 minutes. Rain and mud aren't good for a lot of things - the riders, the bikes, work for mechanics, photographers ... even walking around the track becomes difficult! : ) It's that wet and muddy.

As the moto is coming to a close, it's Brett Metcalfe still leading, Jake Weimer is right behind in second. Pourcel is in third place. Dungey has moved into fourth place. But Weimer has now passed Brett Metcalfe! It's Weimer leading, Metcalfe next, Pourcel third, Dungey fourth. Lap times are now in the 3 minute 10 second range.

Because of the rain, water, and track conditions, the moto is over at about the 25 minute mark. The race will not go 30 minutes plus 2 laps - it is over. The winner of the moto is Jake Weimer. (And Jake wins the overall on the day.) Second in the moto is Metcalfe, then third place is Pourcel, fourth Dungey, then Matt Lemoine, Austin Stroupe, and Justin Barcia finishes in seventh.

At the end of the day in the 250 class, Christophe Pourcel has gained a few more points in the championship chase over Ryan Dungey. There are two races left (Southwick & Steel City), which means four motos. Pourcel has a 13 point lead over Dungey, as they come down to the wire for the 2009 AMA 250 National Motocross Championship.

Notes: Josh Grant returned to racing. It was thought that he would be out a long time with the foot/ankle injuries suffered from XGames ... but he's back now here at Budds Creek. Josh did start the first moto, and finished 13th. He did not start the second moto. Kevin Windham raced in the 450 Motocross class. He finished 22nd in the first moto, DNS the second moto. Lap times (with dry conditions) averaged just under 2 minutes 30 seconds. MX2 World Motocross Champion Tyla Rattray returned to action today - he rides for Pro Circuit Kawasaki, and is number 411.

The next round of AMA National Motocross is next Saturday in Southwick, MA.

450 Motocross Class: It was Chad Reed's day - he won both motos, and, barring any unforseen problems, the 2009 450 Motocross Championship is his .... Second place overall today - Andrew Short. Andrew had 'moto' finishes of fifth and second. Third overall on the day - Chad Reed's Rockstar Makita Suzuki team-mate Michael Byrne with finishes of fourth and third. South African rider Gareth Swanepoel had a free weekend in the MGP series, and finished fourth overall. Reed leads Andrew Short in the point standings, 387 to 305, with only three rounds remaining in the series.

250 MX Class: In the 250 racing, it was Christophe Pourcel's day as well! He won both motos too in the 250 class, and has retaken the points lead in that championship series. Ryan Dungey finished second overall with moto finishes of two/two. Pourcel now leads Dungey in the points chase by six points. Third overall today, with finishes of 3/3, Jake Weimer, who will be making his first ever appearance (along with Ryan Dungey) at the 2009 Motocross of Nations in October, in Italy. Brett Metcalfe went 4/4 for fourth overall.

Notes: Thomas Hahn has come on strong in this series, putting in some impressive rides, and beating a lot of 'factory' riders, he finished second in the first moto, but had some problems in the second moto. Gareth Swanepoel, from South Africa, and a regular MXGP rider, raced this weekend at Unadilla. He finished fourth overall! Kevin Windham raced in the 250 class. He finished outside the top ten in each moto. Josh Grant did not compete, and is likely out for the season, with foot/ankle/heel injuries suffered at X Games. Lap times averaged 2 minutes 20 seconds.

Round 10 of the AMA National Motocross Series will be next Saturday, at Budd Creek Motocross Raceway, in Budds Creek MD.

SPEED will broadcast the 450 Class with same-day coverage on Saturday, August 15 at 7:00 p.m. EST. The ultra-competitive 250 Class will also air on SPEED on Tuesday, July 18. Check your local listings.

Last year at Unadilla in muddy conditions thanks to a mid-race thunderstorm, James Stewart held on to sweep both 450 Class motos and keep his undefeated streak alive en route to his first-ever premier class championship and the series' third perfect season. In the 250 Class, Ryan Villopoto capped off a solid weekend, posting a dominant 1-1 performance on the way to his third consecutive title.

The US Motocross of Nations team that will be headed to the Red Bull Motocross of Nations in October in Italy has been announced by Roger De Coster - it's Ryan Dungey, Jake Weimer, and Ivan Tedesco. Dungey will race the MX1 class, which features 450cc four-stroke machinery. Weimer will compete in the MX2 class, which features 250cc four-stroke motorcycles. Tedesco will race the MX3 class, the open class.

The 2010 Red Bull Motocross of Nations will be held in the USA! (To read more about that, check out this link)

Round 8 Series Statistical Report, before today's event, courtesy MXSports:

* Chad Reed now has the most wins in the 450 Class with three, surpassing injured teammate Mike Alessi with his victory at Washougal.
* The win was Reed's 42nd career AMA victory but just his fourth in AMA Motocross. The remaining 38 have come in AMA Supercross.
* As a whole, Roger De Coster's riders have won 56% of the overall victories across both classes (9 of 16).
* Ryan Dungey remains the winningest rider in the series, capturing his fourth victory of the season at the site of his first career win in Washougal.
* Christophe Pourcel is the only rider in the series to finish on the overall podium at all seven races. His worst finish of the season came at Washougal with third overall. It is the first time he hasn't finished in the top two.
* Dungey and Pourcel are in the midst of one of the most competitive championship battles in the history of the sport, deadlocked atop the 250 Class standings.
* All three points leaders currently have 337 points.
* Kevin Windham makes his 2009 motocross debut this weekend at Unadilla. He will be competing in the 250 Class, making the step down for the first time since 1997.
* Unadilla was part of the inaugural Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship season in 1972.

450 Class Stats:

* The first race held at Unadilla was July 16, 1972. Gary Jones would win on a Yamaha.
* This will be the 19th time the gate will drop for a 450 Class race at Unadilla.
* Only nine riders have won at Unadilla in 18 events.
* Kevin Windham, Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart are the only riders to win at Unadilla in both classes. Windham is the only past winner in the field for 2009.
* In 2005, Ricky Carmichael and Broc Hepler swept Unadilla for Suzuki. It was the first time Suzuki swept a national since May 10th, 1981 at Road Atlanta. This season alone, Suzuki has swept three nationals between Mike Alessi, Chad Reed (450 Class) and Ryan Dungey (250 Class).
* Kawasaki has swept at Unadilla an astonishing four times.
* Unadilla has been used for Inter-am events, Trans-am events, and US GP's in the 1970s and 1980s. The track hosted a 500 national in 1976, 1977, 1989, 1990 and 1991.

Loket, Czech Republic

In Saturday's MX2 Qualification heat, it was Marvin Musquin, riding for KTM, winning. 1. Marvin Musquin, 2. Ken Roczen, 3. Nic Aubin, 4. S. Frossard, 5. R. Goncalves, 6. L Larrieu, 7. V. Teillet, 8. X. Boog, 9. S. Sword, 10. Manuel Monni, 11. Zach Osborne.

in Saturday's MX1 Qualifying, it was Clement Desalle winning. 1. Clement Desalle, 2. Max Nagl, 3. Tanel Leok, 4. Julien Bill, 5. Greg Aranda, 6. G. Swanepoel, 7. David Philippaerts, 8. Ken de Dycker, 9. Tony Cairoli, 10. Manuel Priem, 11. Steve Ramon

In the Grand Prix on Sunday, in MX1, it was 'sensation' Clement Desalle winning his first ever Grand Prix! He looked strong, smooth, and confident. He is leaving the LS Honda team at the end of the year. Rumor has it he will join the Teka Suzuki team. Max Nagl won the first moto, finished fourth in the second, for second overall on the day. Third overall went to defending MX1 World Motocross Champion, David Philippaerts.

In MX2, Gautier Paulin returned to the top of the podium with the overall win!

Gautier finished fourth in the first heat. But came on strong and won the second heat. Second overall went to the consistent Rui Goncalves - he had two thirds to score that second overall position.

Third place went to Xavier Boog, riding for Suzuki. Xavier recently had his appendix removed!

'Sensation' Ken Roczen did win the first MX2 moto. In the second moto, he had a bad start, and finished ninth in the moto, but scored fourth overall on the day.

Heart break for Marvin Musquin - the MX2 Motocross points leader. He finished second in the first moto behind Ken Roczen. But in the second moto, while in a good position to secure the overall Grand Prix victory - he stopped on the side of the track - bike problems. It was a long, sorrowful walk for him back to his pit area.

The town of Loket is a small town ... mostly known for it's castle. The entire area can be best described as an 'Enchanted Forest'. It's stunning. Beautiful.

Up the hill, above the town, is the race track, deep in the forest. It winds back and forth over hills and valleys - a very 'serpentine' track, In fact, that is the name of the track! The event is put on by the Automoto Klub Loket, and the circuit is called 'Loketske serpetiny'.

If you like motocross, and like to travel, Loket is the place for you. It's truly an enchanted place for a motocross, and a wonderful lifetime experience.

The next round of the FIM World Motocross Championship is August 29 & 30 in Lierop, Netherlands
