Eli Tomac Leads Qualifying, Hits Historic Milestone as Championship Fight Intensifies

Race day is underway, and the intensity of the 450 championship fight is already on full display.

Eli Tomac set the tone early in qualifying, laying down a blistering 51.5-second lap to secure the top spot — and in doing so, reached a historic milestone: the 100th fastest qualifying session of his 450 career.

At 33 years old, Tomac continues to prove he remains one of the most dominant and consistent riders in the sport.

Right behind him, Hunter Lawrence kept the pressure on, showing strong pace and positioning himself as a serious contender heading into the main show. With the championship gap razor thin, every session matters.

Jorge Prado impressed once again, qualifying third with a 51.8 and continuing his standout rookie Supercross season. Despite a small mistake during the session, Prado remains firmly in the mix and continues to build momentum.

Ken Roczen and Malcolm Stewart rounded out the top five, both showing speed capable of impacting the overall results tonight.

Further back, Cooper Webb finished sixth — while Justin Hill continued to show promise inside the top ten on a technical track that suits his style.

One of the biggest storylines of qualifying came from Chase Sexton, who rebounded from a crash to finish tenth. Despite the setback, Sexton remains a threat if he can put together a clean main event.

But the headline belongs to Tomac.

His late-session consistency — backing up a 51.5 with a 51.7 — showcased not just raw speed, but control and confidence. The veteran’s ability to execute under pressure continues to separate him in a championship fight where margins are razor thin.

With Tomac, Lawrence, and Roczen separated by just five points in the standings, tonight’s main event carries massive implications.

The stage is set.

The championship is on the line.

And if qualifying was any indication — this one is going to be a fight to the finish.
