Legends and Heroes of Motocross Tour: Preserving the History of the Sport for the Next Generation

If you are a fan of vintage motocross and have been to supercross or motocross
race over the course of the past several years then you no doubt have run across the
Legends and Heroes of Motocross exhibit, set up in the fan fest at nearly every race.
According to their website, the Legends and Heroes tour strives to ‘Promote the
exceptional benefits of Motocross, emphasizing family values and rider safety’. The
group seeks to attain this goal through not only their exhibits which feature both their
own bikes as well as bikes belonging to local builders in the local area around each
event, but also though their recognition of a key and influential figure within the sport
during the opening ceremonies of each supercross race. Throughout the past several
years, the Legends and Heroes have honored individuals such as Gale Webb, Buddy
Antunez and Viki Golden along with many others, presenting them with a plaque and
letting them tell their unique stories from the podium before the start of each event.
This past weekend at the third round of the 2025 Supercross series in Anaheim, I
was honored to be able to share my personal build, (a 2002 CR250) at the event,
alongside a host of other beautiful machines, including a pristine 2005 Travis Pastrana
replica Suzuki RM250 as well as the late Dave Feeney’s personal RMZ450. Being a
vintage motocross enthusiast I was thrilled to have my bike alongside so many other
amazing builds. I found the group more than hospitable as they provided me with two
early access paddock passes, that altogether elevated the entire experience. In
addition, I was able to mingle and bench race with many of the other builders and race
fans who were not hesitant to ask questions about my unique build.
In conclusion, if you have not had the opportunity to check out the Legends and
Heroes group, and you are planning on attending a race this season, make sure you
stop by their booth to check out all of the amazing builds, and grab yourself a
complimentary supercross program while you are there, or check out all that they have
to offer on social media at legendsandheroestour on instagram.
