The publication
Editorial Standards
Accurate information. Clear context. Accountable publishing.
Supercross.com’s editorial work should help readers understand professional motorcycle racing through accurate information, useful context and clearly identified analysis. These standards apply to news, features, rider information, event guides and the presentation of racing data.
Verification comes first
We check material factual claims against sources with direct knowledge or responsibility for the information. Official race results and published championship standings govern those datasets. Statements from teams, riders, organizers and venues are attributed to those sources rather than treated as independent confirmation of every claim they contain.
We do not present rumors, inferred results or unconfirmed participation as established facts. When reliable sources disagree, we explain the uncertainty or withhold the disputed detail until it can be resolved. Developing stories should distinguish what is known from what remains unconfirmed.
Reporting, analysis and opinion
Reporting establishes what happened. Analysis explains its significance. Opinion expresses a judgment. Headlines, labels and language should make these distinctions clear.
Quotes must accurately reflect what was said and its context. We do not invent quotations, interviews, eyewitness observations or access. Supplied promotional material must be attributed and must not be presented as independent reporting.
Authorship and responsibility
Nicholas Forrest is Editorial Lead. That role does not make him the author of every article.
Bylines should accurately identify the person or accountable publishing group responsible for the work. An uploader’s account name is not, by itself, proof of authorship. Contributors should receive accurate credit. A collective Supercross.com byline may be used for genuinely collective or centrally maintained information, with a clear route to the responsible editor.
Fairness and commercial independence
Material allegations require verification, context and a reasonable opportunity for the affected person or organization to respond. Relevant financial, personal or professional interests should be disclosed to the editor and, where they could affect a reader’s assessment, to the reader.
Supercross.com may carry advertising, sponsorships and affiliate links. Paid or sponsored placements should be clearly identifiable. Commercial partnerships must not determine independently reported factual conclusions, race results or championship records.
Ticket-provider placement may reflect a disclosed commercial relationship. It must not imply unverified claims about price, availability or official-seller status. Supercross.com may earn a commission from ticket purchases.
Photography and other media
Images must be used with appropriate permission or a valid license, with required credits and license links. Captions should accurately describe the subject. Illustrative venue photography must not be presented as a photograph of a race it does not depict.
Source and rights information should be retained. Material alterations that change an image’s meaning must be disclosed. Synthetic or AI-generated imagery must not be presented as an authentic photograph of racing, a venue or a person.
Research tools and AI assistance
Software and AI tools may assist research, organization, drafting or structured-data entry. They are not sources of fact. A responsible human must verify the source material, review the output and approve publication.
Automation must not invent results, quotes, people or references. Where automated assistance materially affects how readers should understand a piece, it should be disclosed clearly.
Corrections and lasting records
Substantive factual errors receive a dated correction note. Significant new information may receive a dated update. Minor spelling and formatting edits do not require formal notices. Accurate historical publication dates must be preserved.
