About Aaron Plessinger

Aaron “The Cowboy” Plessinger is an American championship-winning racer competing for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing in the premier 450 class. Known for his aggressive riding style, off-road ability and unmistakable personality, Plessinger has become one of the most popular riders in the SuperMotocross paddock.

The Ohio native turned professional in 2015 and quickly established himself as one of the leading riders of his generation. His breakthrough season came in 2018, when he captured both the Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250SX Western Regional Championship and the AMA Pro Motocross 250 Class Championship.

After advancing into the premier division, Plessinger developed into a consistent 450 contender. He earned his first 450SX Main Event victory in difficult muddy conditions at San Diego in 2024 and followed it with another mud-race win at Foxborough in 2025.

Plessinger also finished third in the AMA Pro Motocross 450 championship in both 2023 and 2024 and helped represent Team USA at the Motocross of Nations.

He returned to Red Bull KTM Factory Racing for a fifth consecutive season in 2026. After an injury-shortened Supercross campaign, Plessinger returned for Pro Motocross and climbed into the top 11 of the championship before a first-turn crash at RedBud caused a laceration and severe bruising near his tailbone.

With no fractures discovered, Plessinger entered a short recovery period and is expected to be reevaluated before returning to competition.
