About Carson Mumford

Carson Mumford's professional career has taken him through several factory and independent programs. The Simi Valley, California native turned pro with the powerhouse GEICO Honda team at Unadilla on August 10, 2019, but when that organization shut down, his career became a tour of the paddock: Chaparral/FXR Honda in 2021 before that team also closed, BarX Suzuki, a fill-in stint with Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki in 2023, MotoConcepts Honda, and Quad Lock Honda, which he joined for the 2024 SMX Playoffs and raced through 2025. Seven teams in seven years — with flashes throughout, including fifth-place 250SX finishes at San Francisco and Seattle in 2024.

His next opportunity came with AEO Powersports KTM Racing. In October 2025, Mumford signed with AEO Powersports KTM Racing for 2026 — his first time racing a steel-frame motorcycle as a professional. Instead of another reset, 2026 became the most complete season of his career. He matched some of the strongest Supercross results of his career on the KTM, then caught fire outdoors: two moto podiums and six consecutive top-five moto finishes in Pro Motocross, including a Moto 2 podium at Spring Creek the day after his contract extension was announced. On July 17, 2026, AEO confirmed Mumford would stay for 2027 — continuity after several seasons of team changes.

His summer ended early when a first-lap collision in the second moto at Budds Creek left him with a dislocated wrist requiring surgery, ruling him out for the remainder of 2026. Mumford's focus is a return in January 2027, when he will race with the number 25 — following a seventh-place finish in the final 2026 250MX championship with 244 points.
