About CJ Benard

CJ Benard has taken the working privateer's route into the professional ranks. The Peoria, Arizona rider began his full-time professional career in 2025 with AEO Powersports KTM Racing, scoring 13 points in his rookie 250MX season and finishing 33rd in the 250 Class championship, with a season-best 19th overall at Washougal.

His rookie outdoor season ended early and painfully at the Budds Creek finale, where a qualifying crash left him with a dislocated hip, a fractured sternum and a broken rib. Benard recovered to run his first full SuperMotocross campaign in 2026 with Gizmo Mods Rock River Yamaha, qualifying for four 250SX main events — his best a 17th at the Detroit Supercross in March — alongside his Pro Motocross program.

On October 7, 2026, Benard was announced as the third member of Dirt Legal Dirt Bike Depot KTM Racing's 2027 roster, returning him to the KTM family where his pro career began. With a full SMX season now behind him, 2027 is his chance to turn qualifying speed into consistent main-event results.
