Ken Roczen isn't finished yet.

After months of uncertainty surrounding his future in professional racing, the reigning Monster Energy AMA Supercross 450SX champion has officially confirmed that he will return for the 2027 season.

Suzuki Motor USA and Pipes Motorsports Group announced the extension on October 29, confirming that Roczen will continue aboard the Suzuki RM-Z450 with AWM Fulfillment PMG Suzuki presented by Progressive/Cycle Gear.

The announcement puts an end to one of the biggest questions of the 2027 offseason.

And Roczen made his intentions clear through a post on his verified Instagram account.

"I'm coming back," read the graphic shared by the defending champion.

His caption added:

"Looks like im going to be a problem again next year 😈"

For Supercross fans who wondered whether Roczen might retire after finally winning his first premier-class championship, the answer has arrived.

The champion is returning to defend his title.

Suzuki Officially Confirms Roczen's 2027 Return

The announcement extends a partnership that has become one of the most successful relationships in modern Suzuki Supercross history.

Roczen returned to Suzuki in 2023, joining Dustin Pipes' organization after previously winning the 2016 AMA Pro Motocross championship aboard Suzuki machinery.

Since then, Roczen and the PMG program have developed into consistent contenders in the premier class.

Their partnership reached its defining achievement during the 2026 AMA Supercross season, when Roczen captured his first 450SX championship.

Now, the combination will continue into a fifth consecutive season.

Suzuki confirmed that Roczen will remain aboard the RM-Z450 as the team prepares for the upcoming Supercross championship.

Team principal Dustin Pipes expressed enthusiasm about continuing the relationship, highlighting Roczen's importance to the program both as a competitor and as a leader within the organization.

Team manager Larry Brooks also welcomed the return, emphasizing the opportunity to defend the championship they won together.

The announcement confirms Roczen's 2027 return, although the exact length of the renewed agreement was not specified.

The Retirement Question Is Finally Answered

Roczen's decision carries additional significance because retirement had been a genuine consideration.

Following his 2026 championship victory, the German-American veteran publicly discussed the possibility of stepping away from professional racing.

After years of injuries, difficult recoveries and championship battles, Roczen had finally achieved one of the biggest goals of his career.

Winning the 450SX title presented a natural opportunity to conclude his full-time racing career on a high note.

Throughout the summer and fall, Roczen acknowledged that deciding whether to continue racing was difficult.

There were also questions about whether another full Supercross campaign was something he wanted to commit to.

As recently as September, his future remained unsettled.

Now, that uncertainty is over.

Roczen has officially committed to another AMA Supercross championship campaign with Suzuki in 2027.

Rather than retiring as the reigning champion, he will return to defend the title.

Roczen Will Run the #1 Plate in 2027

One of the most notable aspects of the announcement is Roczen's opportunity to defend his championship with the number-one plate.

Suzuki's official October 30 announcement confirmed that Roczen will run the #1 on his RM-Z450 during the 2027 season.

For a rider long associated with the iconic #94, the championship plate represents another milestone.

Roczen earned that distinction through an extraordinary 2026 campaign.

Across the 17-round championship, he recorded five Main Event victories, 12 podium finishes and 14 top-five results.

The title was decided at the Salt Lake City finale, where Roczen secured the championship by just three points over Hunter Lawrence.

It was his first AMA Supercross 450SX championship and Suzuki's first premier-class Supercross title since 2010.

The achievement came after years of perseverance and demonstrated that Roczen remained capable of winning at the highest level.

Now, he has an opportunity to represent that championship across another full season.

A Championship-Winning Partnership Continues

The Roczen-Suzuki relationship has become an important part of Pipes Motorsports Group's identity.

The organization, which developed from H.E.P. Motorsports into Suzuki's leading American premier-class racing operation, has built its recent success around the RM-Z450 platform.

Despite competing against newer factory motorcycle platforms and some of the sport's largest manufacturers, Roczen and the team delivered a championship-winning season in 2026.

Continuity will be an important part of the next chapter.

Roczen already has an established working relationship with the program, including team principal Dustin Pipes and team manager Larry Brooks.

The team will now attempt to build on that success as it prepares for another championship campaign.

For Suzuki, retaining the reigning champion reinforces the manufacturer's commitment to its American Supercross program.

For Roczen, remaining with a team that delivered his long-awaited title provides familiarity heading into 2027.

What Does This Mean for Suzuki's 2027 Lineup?

Roczen's confirmation is another major development for Suzuki's 2027 racing organization.

Earlier in October, Suzuki and Pipes Motorsports Group announced the addition of Justin Barcia for the upcoming SuperMotocross season.

Barcia signed a deal covering 2027 with a mutual option for 2028.

His arrival adds another experienced premier-class competitor to the broader PMG Suzuki organization.

With Roczen now officially confirmed, Suzuki has secured the return of its reigning champion alongside its previously announced new signing.

The riders may compete under different sponsorship and team presentations within the organization, so their precise team identities should follow official announcements rather than be assumed.

The latest confirmation also removes Roczen from the list of prominent riders whose 2027 futures had remained unresolved.

The Road to Anaheim Begins

Before his 2027 championship defense begins, Roczen has additional international Supercross appearances on his offseason schedule.

He is among the headline competitors for the Australian Supercross Championship's Auckland round in New Zealand on October 31.

He is also scheduled to compete at the AUSX Open in Geelong, Australia, on November 7.

Those events offer fans an opportunity to see the defending AMA champion in action before the American championship resumes.

The 2027 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season is scheduled to open January 9 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.

For Roczen, the challenge will be different this time.

He is no longer chasing his first premier-class Supercross championship.

He will enter the season as the defending champion, carrying the #1 plate aboard the Suzuki RM-Z450.

And after months of uncertainty, his intentions are no longer a question.

Ken Roczen is coming back in 2027. He's staying with Suzuki. And he's returning to defend his Supercross championship.
