About Lucas Coenen

Lucas Coenen is a Belgian motocross star competing for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing in the premier MXGP division. Known for exceptional sand speed, aggressive racecraft and relentless forward momentum, Coenen has quickly established himself as one of the leading riders of his generation.

After finishing runner-up in the 2024 FIM MX2 World Championship, Lucas moved directly into the premier MXGP class for 2025. During his rookie 450 season, he won six Grands Prix, became the youngest premier-class winner in MXGP history and finished second in the world championship standings.

Lucas entered the 2026 season as a championship favorite and quickly took control of the MXGP points lead. He also made an immediate impression during select American Pro Motocross appearances, finishing 2-2 for second overall in his 450 debut at Thunder Valley.

At Southwick, Lucas qualified fastest in the 450 class before going down in the first turn of Moto 1. He charged from near the back of the field into fourth position before a late crash ended his race. Although the final result did not reflect his speed, the performance reinforced his reputation as one of the fastest and most determined riders in international motocross.
