Hunter Lawrence Wins Washougal as Cole Davies Sweeps the 250 Class

The 2026 Pro Motocross Championship completed its final West Coast stop of the season at Washougal MX Park, where Hunter Lawrence secured another major 450 victory and Cole Davies reignited the 250 championship fight with a dominant sweep.

Hunter used 2-1 moto scores to earn his fifth overall win of the season and his second consecutive victory. The result extended his championship advantage over his brother, Jett Lawrence, to 12 points with three rounds remaining.

Hunter Lawrence Takes Control of the 450 Overall

Haiden Deegan opened the first 450 moto with the holeshot, but a mistake in the following corner dropped him to the rear of the field. Jett Lawrence inherited the lead with Hunter close behind, while Jorge Prado settled into third.

Jett gradually opened an advantage and took the first moto victory by 7.2 seconds over Hunter. Prado finished third, while Deegan produced one of the strongest recovery rides of the afternoon, charging through the field to fourth after dropping deep into the pack. Dylan Ferrandis completed the top five.

The Lawrence brothers again led the field at the start of Moto 2. Jett grabbed the holeshot, but Hunter quickly moved into the lead. Jett later regained the top position before losing traction on the face of a jump and going down, allowing Hunter to retake control.

Jett closed the gap during the final laps, but Hunter held on to win the moto by 1.4 seconds. Race officials later reviewed an earlier off-track incident involving Jett and issued a one-position penalty after determining that he accelerated alongside the racetrack. The ruling promoted Deegan to second in the moto and moved Jett to third.

The penalty broke what would have been a tie for the overall victory. Hunter’s 2-1 scores gave him the win, Jett finished second overall with 1-3 results, and Deegan earned his second consecutive podium with 4-2 finishes.

Cole Davies Delivers a Dominant 250 Sweep

Cole Davies responded to a difficult Spring Creek weekend with his strongest performance of the summer. The Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider controlled both motos from the front and completed a perfect 1-1 afternoon.

Davies grabbed the Moto 1 holeshot and quickly established himself at the head of the field. He pulled away to win by 17.1 seconds over Ryder DiFrancesco, while Chance Hymas completed the podium.

Championship leader Levi Kitchen was caught in an opening-lap incident and was forced to charge through the field. Kitchen recovered to sixth after gaining 22 positions.

DiFrancesco grabbed the holeshot in Moto 2, but Davies worked his way into the lead with more than 26 minutes remaining. From there, Davies controlled the race and secured the victory by 7.3 seconds.

DiFrancesco’s 2-2 scores produced the best overall result of his professional career, while Hymas went 3-3 for his second consecutive podium. Carson Mumford finished a career-best fourth overall with 5-4 moto scores.

The Championship Battles Tighten

Hunter Lawrence leaves Washougal with 367 points and a 12-point advantage over Jett Lawrence. Deegan remains third in the 450 championship with 298 points.

In the 250 class, Davies gained 18 points on Kitchen and reduced the championship deficit to only seven points. Kitchen continues to lead with 293 points, followed by Davies with 286 and Julien Beaumer with 268.

The championship now enters a late-summer break before returning for the Unadilla National on August 15 in New Berlin, New York.
